How to play Nami
Read the full guide
Play Nami by the “slow first, bubble second” rule: self-E auto or E-W to tag them, then Q the slowed target, and remember you can E an allied projectile while it is already in flight to steal a setup window your lane partner did not prebuild
Stand in two-sided W range, not spectator range—if W only heals or only pokes, and self-E auto is never live, you are standing too far back to access the trade pattern that makes Nami feel unfair
Send R through your team as often as at the enemy, because Nami’s good games come from that first tagged touch turning into move speed, split pathing, and easier follow-up Q; the same data also says she can give up inches, but not a real early crash
Versus engage, your lane gets much easier once you stop trying to win neutral bubble trades and start playing around their forced path. Stand where self-E auto and a two-sided W are possible, but keep enough room that they have to spend movement to touch you or your ADC. If they do nothing, chip with bounce trades and leave. If they commit, tag first and bubble the slowed target on the way in or out rather than throwing Q early. Your R is usually best as the spell that breaks their first clean entry and speeds your side to reposition, which often creates a simpler follow-up bubble than the raw version you were waiting for.
When Nami's Abilities hit allied champions they gain Move Speed for a short duration.
Sends a bubble to a target area, dealing damage and stunning all enemies on impact.
Unleashes a stream of water that bounces back and forth between allied and enemy champions, healing allies and damaging enemies.
Empowers an allied champion for a short duration. The ally's basic attacks and spells deal bonus magic damage and slow the target.
Summons a massive Tidal Wave that knocks up, slows, and damages enemies. Allies hit gain double the effect of Surging Tides.
